New classes
I am back in school. The classes I am taking this semester are not my first classes. The classes that I took before did not transfer. The last course I took was an Anatomy and physiology course. This semester I am taking an English, a math, and a math lab. My math skills are lacking so I have to take what I affectionately call "retard math." No offense inteneded towards anyone. In high school when I should have been worrying about my grades I was working full time to support myself, brother, and poor excuse of a mother. Due to that situation I am having to play some academic catch up. I don't really mind it though. I am just happy to be here. My professors this semester seem fine so far. They seem like secure, well adjusted adults. Last semester I stayed irritated the entire semester. I had a success course with a professor we will call "Dick." Professor Dick used every class as an opportunity to cry about Gay rights. This was highly annoying considering that the class had absolutely nothing to do with Gay rights. I find my classmates are sometimes as interesting as my professors. I once had a classmate who was a transgender male. That was not the interesting part. The interesting part was that he wore little lingere teddies to class and would always show up 15 minutes late. He would tell the professor that he was being fashionably late. He unfashionably failed the course. Overall I am happy with the college experience. I feel that it is what you make of it, and I am happy to be here, and will do my best to make something great of it.

Eclectic Thoughts
Divorce which was once considered only under the direst of circumstances in now only too common in America. More than half of all those who marry in this day and age will most likely divorce. The reasons vary from trivial to extreme. When people get married they often cite love for the reason of the union. I wonder how many of those people actually know what love is. What does love look like to them. Have you ever overheard young men or women talk about "love," or their ideal mate? I have more than a few times, and their version of love is so often superficial or based on fantasy. Love does not look like the "Twilight Series," or "The real world." As we as a society move further and further from God and biblical truths we fail in more areas as a whole. 1 Corinthians 13:4 out of the NIV says that, " Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud." Love is a sacrifice. Love is putting a person before yourself. Love is standing beside a person even when it isn't convenient or you don't really like them that day. It is forgiving and moving on. The ultimate picture of love is a sinless Christ on the cross for a world of ungrateful sinners, myself included. I find the picture of our society sad today. There are so many people who don't really understand what love actually looks like. I understand what it looks like and I still manage to mess it up fairly often. 1 Corinthians goes into great detail about what it does and does not look like, and I find myself every so often repeating the verses to myself when I have acted or spoken in a unloving way towards someone.

My Favorite Movie of the Summer, Plot not Porn
My favorite movie of the summer this year was "Captain America." I almost never go to watch anything that comes out in theaters anymore, because the culture of mainstrean America is typically tacky at best, and totally classless at worst. However, when "Captain America" started production I was very excited. My thoughts were "finally something I will go see." The main character, Captain America is a Marvel comic book character. I really like the character because he starts out as this really physically weak person with a very strong moral character and by then end of the story, he becomes everything he ever wanted to be physically but still manages to keep his moral fiber. I think our culture is really struggling in the area of moral integrity and thoughts that actually matter. We live in a day where classless flicks like "Friends with Benefits" are actually considered good and worth watching. The name along evokes thoughts of immorality , women with daddy issues, and boys who never learned to be men. The movie "Thor," who conveniently is also based on a Marvel comic character came out this summer. I look forward to seeing more of these types of films come out, and less of glorified soft porn flicks. Somewhere along the line our society swapped their brains for their misguided libidos. Marvel Comics to the rescue!
